ABOUT US
We originally started in business in 1973 using the name Lowcost Machinery Sales Ltd and commenced trading with secondhand brick presses and parts for two predominant British concrete brick makers. Sadly, the designs were overtaken within ten years mainly by German manufacturers, plus the use of concrete or calcium silicate type bricks declined – and the market was lost.
The company turned itself to quarry equipment and waste handling equipment, the latter being started in the late 50s and 60s when the owner was instrumental in providing boiler ash from dumps adjacent to development sites and motorways, supplies included furnace bottom ash and PFA.
In 1997 Rodan Engineering was acquired from Herr Horst Hamp who retired to Australia having built up a good business supplying vertical balers, compactors and drum crushers to the many companies shown on the ‘homepage’.
These units were made in Germany but we were instrumental in reversing that trend and offer units and full support from Great Britain.
Finally Lowcost Machinery Sales Ltd was sold in May 2005 and now works as an independent member of a Netherland Group, leaving Rodan Engineering Co Ltd to concentrate solely focused on NEW machinery, although occasionally secondhand machinery does raise its head.
